What if: Tintin comic book without balloon text.

Background

- Tintin fans who like Herge's drawing style: "clear line',
- Fans mostly remember the story in detail even word by word.
- Some panels are best drawing comic and amazing scenery in clear line style.
Unfortunately, some good drawing is blocked with balloon text. Tintin Fans wish if there is Tintin book (special edition) without any balloon text. People (especially the old fans) will enjoy different experiences to explore the drawing in a new look.

A Proposal

Regarding the background, to propose a special edition Tintin book without balloon text.  Addition transparent plastic with balloon text is optional. The transparent pages are only for new readers or as needed. This plastic/transparent pages are detachable or can be changed with other languages.

For the e-book, the text will be put on a different layer from drawing/comic panels. The balloon text (in e-book) has a similar setting in DVD or Bluray which allowing audiences to set ON/OFF a subtitle during watching a video/movie.

Applying & Value Added

• e-comic, in an electronic book, is not a problem to have a feature that able to hide or unhide the text because the text is in a different layer. Hiding/Unhiding texts option will be a value added for Tintin e-book.
• Special edition book, especially for Tintin hardcore fans who know the story of every book and want to explore the hidden picture behind balloon text. For old fans, it will be a new excitement to reread all 23 titles. It is the value added.

Requirements & Obstacles

• For printed version (book) it may add additional cost for removable text on a transparent page. However, since this special edition for hardcore fans, text on the transparent page is not necessary.
• Need Artist Team for drawing in blank part of the balloon text. The drawing style as close as Herge's style. Indeed, at some titles, it could be easy to re-drawing but some title has a difficult panel because many details must be drawn.
